ACLU-PA Sues U. of Pittsburgh Over Student Group Suspension
The ACLU of Pennsylvania has filed a lawsuit against the University of Pittsburgh over the school's suspension of its Students for Justice in Palestine chapter in apparent retaliation for criticisms that the group made of the university.
In the last 20 years, the presence of police officers in schools has increased dramatically, to the detriment of the lives and futures of students. The harm of police in schools has particular impact on students of color, with disabilities, and of limited income. In this episode, we hear from Harold Jordan, senior policy advocate for ACLU-PA, who has spent decades advocating for students' civil rights.
