We Can Never Be Satisfied: Ending Police Brutality in PA

January 16, 2021 @ 2:45 pm

Everyone is familiar with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s fight for equality, but many people omit his fight to end police brutality in America. Dr. King was very vocal about the role of police in America and how their role was designed as a tool to sustain the oppression of Black and brown Americans.

Join us on Friday, January 15, at 3:00 pm, to celebrate the birthday and legacy of Dr. King and discuss how the ACLU-PA is working to end police brutality in Pennsylvania. ACLU-PA Executive Director Reggie Shuford and ACLU-PA Campaigns Director Danitra Sherman will discuss the role of police in a nation built on white supremacy and the actions our organization is taking to influence police divestment.

This event will live stream on Facebook. We hope that you will join the conversation!

“We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality.”– Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., 1963
