Cambriae Bates has worked in the non-profit sphere since 2013 supporting community initiatives for HIV/AIDS awareness and inner-city youth education and recreational programs. Cambriae worked as the Development Special Events Coordinator for AIDS Services of Austin in Austin, TX, prior to joining the ACLU of Pennsylvania. Preceding her work in Austin, she was the Marketing and Development Coordinator for the Philadelphia youth center Spring Garden Academy. Having earned her bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and Production from Temple University, Cambriae is passionate about digital media and how it can play a key role in highlighting civil injustices and implementing social reform in the community. She is currently in the process of finishing her master’s degree in communications through a program with Syracuse University. During her downtime, she enjoys a relaxing night of binge-watching Netflix, cooking from recipes found on Pinterest, writing, or reading a good book to her two dogs Hobbes and Nola. (Philadelphia)
